Abstract

PAZ, Leila Kely dos Santos da; MELO, Charlline Vladia Silva de  and  SILVA, Ivanderson Pereira da. Possibilities of approaching Carolina Maria de Jesus in Initial Teacher Training Courses. Rev. Diálogo Educ. [online]. 2023, vol.23, n.79, pp.1409-1428.  Epub Feb 22, 2024. ISSN 1981-416X.  https://doi.org/10.7213/1981-416x.23.079.ao03.

This study investigated the didactic possibilities for initial teacher training courses based on the exploration of the legacy of Carolina Maria de Jesus. It had the following research objectives: to understand the relationships between the legacy of Carolina Maria de Jesus and its importance to understand the Brazilian social reality, in the contemporary context; to analyze curricular experiences centered on the life and work of Carolina Maria de Jesus within the scope of initial teacher training courses; evaluate the limits and potentialities of the narrative by and about Carolina Maria de Jesus for the development of teaching proposals in the context of initial teacher training. In order to achieve these objectives, the experience of the discipline “Education and New Information and Communication Technologies”, offered to students of the first period of the Pedagogy course at the Federal University of Alagoas, Campus Arapiraca, in the first calendar semester of 2022 was analyzed. adopted the work “Quarto de Despejo: diary of a favelada” as the backbone of the activities. Portfolios were generated that materialized in the form of blogs. These materials, as primary sources of data, were treated in the light of documental analysis. As a result, it was evidenced that it is possible, from Carolina's narrative, to tension the official curriculum in favor of a decolonial curriculum and to produce adapted teaching materials, in different media formats, for the development of anti-racist and anti-sexist teaching proposals.
