Abstract

RIBEIRO, Claudiane Figueiredo  and  PINTO, Sérgio Crespo Coelho da Silva. Inclusive Pedagogical Architectures and Computational Thinking. Rev. Diálogo Educ. [online]. 2023, vol.23, n.79, pp.1429-1449.  Epub Feb 22, 2024. ISSN 1981-416X.  https://doi.org/10.7213/1981-416x.23.079.ao04.

The article is an excerpt from a doctoral research project on the use of Computational Thinking in inclusive activities in continuing teacher training. To this end, a course was held entitled "The Computational Thinking Approach in Inclusive Education", with the aim of building a Learning Ecosystem supported by inclusive Pedagogical Architectures on the use of Computational Thinking for Basic Education and Technical Education teachers. The methodology applied was quantitative and qualitative, exploratory in nature, based on Design-Based Research, divided into three stages: a preliminary study, an exploratory period and a final phase. The exploratory period included a thirty-hour course with ten online meetings. A cycle of six theoretical and conceptual lectures; the seventh and eighth meetings to debate inclusive ideas, and two final meetings to present the pedagogical architectures involving the mind maps and the workshop. The course was taught by the researchers and had 113 enrolments, 36 participants and 10 graduates from different educational levels. This work prioritized the analysis of the mind maps produced by the participants and the discourse analysis of the dialogues recorded during the course workshop presentations. The results showed the complexity of the learning ecosystem, through the diversity of experiences, shared activities and the possibilities of enriching pedagogical practice in the applied format. It also pointed to the need to invest in teacher training in Computational Thinking, especially in basic education schools, where students most need specific interventions to formalize their thinking.
