Abstract

ARAUJO, Osmar Hélio Alves; FORTUNATO, Ivan  and  MEDEIROS, Emerson Augusto de. University teaching: the class as cosiness. Rev. Diálogo Educ. [online]. 2023, vol.23, n.79, pp.1467-1478.  Epub Feb 22, 2024. ISSN 1981-416X.  https://doi.org/10.7213/1981-416x.23.079.ao06.

In this essay we discuss the idea of a university teaching focused on human formation through the argument of the class as warmth, from which possibilities arise to stimulate many forms of learning in the service of humanization, of oneself, of the other and of relationships planetary, relating them to four questions: (i.) Is cosiness a possible noun in the academic context? (ii.) So why not make classes more welcoming? (iii.) For whom and why build more welcoming classes? (iv.) How, then, to promote welcoming classes? In concluding lines, we wrote about the courage to build welcoming classes, and about the necessary indefatigable courage to free oneself, live and love (or at least respect) the unrepeatable human singularities that make up the universe of the classroom.

Keywords : Cosiness; University class; Teaching; Teacher education.
