The article aims to analyze a set of proposals and organically articulated actions, developed within the scope of the state education network of Amazonas, which was called a policy of management, accountability and testing. The theoretical-methodological contributions of historical and dialectical materialism guided the course of document analysis. This way, the movement of dispute for the hegemony of the public school is observed, which is based on the paradigm of total quality in education and is materialized from the implementation of large-scale testing systems, as the main mechanism for gauging educational quality. The results show that the agenda of financial capital for education in Amazonas is a large market to be explored, considering the contradictions and antagonisms of a class society in which the school is inserted.
