This article analyses the National Congresses of Education Journal Editors (CONEPEd) with the aim of explaining the recent trajectory of this Congress, which is holding its fourth edition in 2024. They take place as part of the Forum of Education Journal Editors (FEPAE) of the National Association for Research and Postgraduate Studies in Education (ANPED), organised in partnership with the Brazilian Journal of Education (RBE). To this end, an exploratory study was carried out to visualise what has been done at the congresses, their discussions and contributions to the present of journal publishing in Brazil. The programmes of the National Congresses of Education Journal Editors were historicised, with their themes, short courses, thematic axes and other activities. As well as their contributions, support networks, conditions and possibilities for scientific publishing and editing practices in the field of education. It is possible to say that CONEPEd has become an effective way of producing a collaborative network between editors of education journals linked to FEPAE/ANPED, as well as a space for political discussion on scientific publishing.
