This interdisciplinary study explores the theoretical foundation of pedagogical neotechnicism, in accordance with the assumptions of Luiz Carlos de Freitas. With a theoretical, bibliographic, and documentary approach, the work adopts a qualitative perspective cited by Fazenda (2013), using the contributions of Freitas (1992, 1994, 2002, 2007, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2020) and Freitas et al. (2009). Within the scope of contemporary educational reforms, especially those based on business principles, there is a lack of debate and a clear definition of quality education. The idea in which a condition is merely reflected in obtaining high grades in tests is not supported in the field of Educational Sciences, nor can it be considered the purpose of teaching from an educational perspective. Furthermore, excessive emphasis on assessments leads to competitions between winners and losers, something incompatible with the desired educational objectives.
