FERNANDEZ-GARCIMARTIN, Carla; LOPEZ-PASTOR, Víctor M.  y  FUENTES NIETO, Teresa. A workshop on mime and corporal expression in the pre-service teacher education of Early Childhood Education. Rev. This paper presents an experience of a mime workshop in Pre-service teacher education (PTE) for early childhood education. It is a practical session, where the student teachers experience the session as if they were children. We explain the importance of these practices in the PTE of Early Childhood Education in two areas: (a) to experience corporal expression practices, improving their expressive competence; (b) to provide didactic resources that allow them to later work on these contents with children in Early Childhood Education. The mime workshop is part of the subject ‘Corporal Expression in Early Childhood Education’. It is an optional subject taught in the first four-month period of the fourth year of the degree. In this four-month period they take five optional subjects that make up their specialisation: ‘Art Education’. The workshop has two parts: (1) practical experience, as students; (2) didactic analysis of the proposal, and study of the didactic applications. A formative and shared-assessment system (F&SA) is applied, which uses evaluation to improve student and teacher learning, and to encourage student participation in the assessment process, thus promoting self-regulation of their learning. Two assessment tools are used: (a) teacher's notebook (narration and observation); (b) self-assessment form for the analysis of the session. The results are very positive, both in terms of the expressive experience of the future students and in terms of their own learning. The application of F&SA processes helps them to be more aware of the process of learning and improving the technical aspects, and of the possibilities of the proposal. Receiving this training makes it possible for them to apply these contents in their future work as teachers with children in early childhood education.
