In order to better understand the process of consolidation of football in Rio de Janeiro, this article aimed to discuss the representations of two suburb clubs, Bangu and Andarahy, in Rio de Janeiro press in the 10s. The time frame adopted considered that it was a period in wich there was an increase in the number of conflicts on the stadiums and attempts to restrict the participation of certain groups in the initiatives of the Liga Metropolitana de Sports Athleticos. To reach the objective, we analyzed major newspapers, especially the Correio da Manhã and O Imparcial.
