The inherent complexity of contemporary human life highlights new challenges for health professionals in regard to interrelations between health and spirituality. Beyond the limits of the body’s physiology, health professionals need to view patients comprehensively. The current article thus aims to discuss the interconnections between health and spirituality and to contribute to reflections on possible approaches to include these issues in the undergraduate medical curriculum.
