Objective: To evaluate the profiles and works of scientific researchers in pediatrics who are registered as fellows of scientific productivity by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). Methods: The lattes curricula of 47 researchers in pediatrics who were awarded grants between 2010 and 2012 were analyzed. The variables analyzed included gender, categories of scholarship, institutions, national and international articles produced for their Qualis, their publications and books, book chapters and guidelines for undergraduates, Master’s and doctoral production patents. Results: Out of a total of 529 medical researchers, 47 (8.8%) were identified in the field of pediatrics. Approximately 90% of the researchers were in the states of São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul and Minas Gerais. Pediatric researchers published 1,174 articles in the period of investigation, 274 of which were broadcast in journals with a Qualis B2 rating. Conclusions: The researchers in pediatrics present relevant scientific production from a quantitative point of view. However, further studies are needed to measure the impact of the increased scientific production in the field of pediatrics in Brazil.
