Abstract

MENDONCA, Erica Toledo de et al. Intercampi Integration in Education: Developing Skills of Professionalism. Rev. Bras. Educ. Med. [online]. 2016, vol.40, n.3, pp.344-354. ISSN 1981-5271.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1981-52712015v40n3e00822015.

Objective

To analyze the development of skills related to professionalism among students from different fields of knowledge through an innovative teaching proposal combining the use of active methodologies and information and communication technologies.

Methods

A prospective, comparative, pre- and post- intervention study conducted on college students from two campuses of a state university, applying questionnaires (Phases I and II) to assess the development of skills related to professionalism.

Results

An improvement was registered in the evaluative scores for the items surveyed, allowing us to make inferences on the effectiveness of teaching strategies, learning and assessment used.

Conclusions

The development of skills related to professionalism is common to all areas of knowledge, since they include aspects of learning related to citizenship, ethics, human values, communication, teamwork and critical and reflective thinking, among other important dimensions, with these believed to be universal and necessary requirements in the education of any college student.
