Abstract

ROITBERG, Guilherme Prado. FROM SEMIFORMATION TO OMNILATERALITY: REFLECTIONS ABOUT FORMATIVE UTOPIAS AND EMANCIPATION. Educ. Teoria Prática [online]. 2019, vol.29, n.61, pp.305-320.  Epub Dec 18, 2019. ISSN 1981-8106.  https://doi.org/10.18675/1981-8106.vol29.n61.p305-320.

This article analyzes the formative aspects of two great ideals of formation that marked the history of Western education: the Greek Paideia and the German Bildung. From the historical perspective, based on Karl Marx’s (1818-1883) omnilaterality concept and Theodor Adorno's (1903-1969) theory of semiformation, we aim to redeem the origins and philosophical fundaments of formative utopias, emphasizing its relevance in the constitution of a critical and emancipatory political education in the context of contemporaneity.

Keywords : Formative Utopias; Paideia; Bildung; Omnilaterality; Semiformation.
