Abstract

PEREIRA, Pamela Ranielle da Silva  and  SILVA, Katharine Ninive Pinto. TEACHING WORK AND TEACHING OF CHEMISTRY IN HIGH SCHOOL. Educ. Teoria Prática [online]. 2019, vol.29, n.61, pp.404-421.  Epub Dec 18, 2019. ISSN 1981-8106.  https://doi.org/10.18675/1981-8106.vol29.n61.p404-421.

We present research results that aimed to identify if there is an adequacy of the working conditions to Chemistry teachers in the High School of the State Teaching Network of Pernambuco, considering the health conditions of the teaching worker. According to the interviewees, there is a lack of didactic resources in the teaching of chemistry, which makes theoretical and conventional classes much more frequent than classes in laboratories and more dynamic. The research was carried out by semi-structured interviews with teachers of six schools which are part of the Program of Integral Education (PEI) of the High School of the State Network of Pernambuco (4 full day work and 2 half day work), as a research of the ethnographic type. There is also an overload of teaching work in general in this educational network, which generates illnesses. However, these teachers avoid requesting leave of absence, because the employment relationship they have with these institutions does not allow this, under penalty of losing the link with these full-time schools and, therefore, the bonus they receive.
