This paper focuses on the History of Education of Itaipulândia, PR, Brazil, studying aspects connected with its colonisation and the establishment of the first schools and going until the 1990s, when the town was emancipated and the educational context changed. Oral History was mobilized as a research methodology for the production of eight interviews with teachers, most of them associated with the teaching of Maths. Based on these narratives, and collating with other documental sources, the objective of this research is to pursue a comprehension of a History of Education in Itaipulândia. Besides, the research points out the way the spaces are modified and modify the characteristics of a region and also its inhabitants.
