Abstract

ALVES, Jozimara Assunção Camilo  and  ROSSI, Célia Regina. PUBLIC POLICIES OF GENDER AND SEXUALITY IN EDUCATION: BRIEF ANALYSIS OF THE "GENDER IDEOLOGY". Educ. Teoria Prática [online]. 2020, vol.30, n.63, e20. ISSN 1981-8106.  https://doi.org/10.18675/1981-8106.v30.n.63.s13771.

This article aims to understand and research, even if briefly, the "Gender Ideology", starting from the public education policies regarding gender and sexuality. Starting this analysis from the 1990s, a historical moment full of social achievements, when Brazil experienced an intense movement, especially with the advent of the 1988 Constitution and the social movements that craved a reform. Education was not left out of this eagerness for reforms, and in this movement, we have the approval of LDB (1996). Our objectives in this article were: to investigate and analyze educational public policies regarding Human Rights, Gender and Sexuality, but specifically in the latest draft bills that makes references about gender and sexuality studies, pointing to the understanding of the Brazilian legislative about the subject, popularly known in its biased aspect as "Gender Ideology". Then, if there are reflexes of this issues inside the schools, understanding that the way the school is organized may (or may not) lead to a reflection about its pedagogical practices that can produce and reproduce inequalities, because in its norms, methods and the very physical structure of the school can occur the naturalization of these unequal relationships that are present in society.

Keywords : Education; Genre; Sexuality; Gender ideology.
