Abstract

FURLAN, Susana Angelin; LIMA, José Milton de  and  LIMA, Márcia Regina Canhoto de. "LACK TIME, GOTTA RUN": THE TIME IN CONTEMPORARY TIMES AND ITS DESIGN IN THE SCHOOL CONTEXT. Educ. Teoria Prática [online]. 2020, vol.30, n.63, e1.  Epub July 01, 2020. ISSN 1981-8106.  https://doi.org/10.18675/1981-8106.v30.n.63.s13185.

This paper portrays reflections of a research that investigated the acceleration of time in contemporary times and how this movement permeates the school. The research is based on a master's research that counted on the participation of two teachers and approximately 50 children, observed throughout the school year of 2017. Thus, this study relied on the theoretical and philosophical basis to understand the current movement of time and its repercussions in the school context. We perceive that this acceleration of time, a characteristic of contemporary society, already falls on children in anticipation of what they are capable of doing. Thus, it is necessary to be attentive to the relationships between children and themselves and adults, which are the basis of an educational system of quality; and it is also essential to slow down, to pay attention to the details and singularities.

Keywords : Early childhood education; Time; Acceleration of time.
