The architectural understood in this article as the way the discourse is constructed and structured so that material, form and content are integrated (GEGE, 2009) is fundamental in the analysis of the work written by Leo Cunha and illustrated by André Neves Um dia, um rio. Therefore, it is believed that it is relevant for the readers of this illustrated work to know its architecture so that it can attribute meanings to it during the cultural act of reading. The adopted architectural concept is one that understands the work as an artistic cultural object (GEGE, 2009) and for this reason it is proposed to read this literary work as an integrated whole in which its constitutive elements are essential to the production of meanings. The elaborated analysis allows to affirm that Um dia, um rio, constituted by hybrid and innovative language, can be classified as avant-garde work, since it breaks with the traditional models and reveals the contradictions and conflicts of the current society. This article is anchored on the theoretical assumptions of Bakhtin (2002, 2011) and his scholars, Cadermatori (2010), Zilberman (2003), Lindem (2018), Arena (2010), among others.
