Abstract

PAIXAO, Jairo Antônio da; SOUZA, Eliana Carla Gomes de; OLIVEIRA, Fernanda Abdon de  and  MATOS, Giulia Bressan Geraldo. PERCEPTION OF TEACHERS ON THE ROLE OF SCHOOL IN THE FORMATION OF GOOD EATING HABIT. Educ. Teoria Prática [online]. 2021, vol.31, n.64, e26. This qualitative study aimed to identify and analyze the perception of teachers working in elementary school in public schools about the role of the school in the formation of good eating habits. From the data collected, through a questionnaire applied to 70 teachers, it was possible to affirm that they are aware of the relevance of working at school on the theme of food and nutrition education. In the perception of these teachers, the school is an appropriate space to address the said theme among students. Although these teachers have not received training on the theme, either in initial and/or continuing education, they have been prepared and optimistic about the possibility of coming to work with the theme, which may be included in the planning of Science content. This situation indicates possibilities of success in dealing with nutrition education at school, if it can count on the support of the bodies linked to educational policies in public schools in the country.
