Abstract

SOARES, Fabiana Pegoraro; SILVA, Carolina Sperandio Costa da  and  LOPES, Henrique Bovo. Project-based learning in a pandemic context: an example of application. Educ. Teoria Prática [online]. 2022, vol.32, n.65, e15. ISSN 1981-8106.  https://doi.org/10.18675/1981-8106.v32.n.65.s15753.

The Covid-19 pandemic infected and killed millions of people worldwide. The rapid spread of the virus led several countries to close their schools, including Brazil, where all educational activities became remote and, afterwards, hybrid. This text aims to report the experience of a private school in São Paulo involving project-based learning in a hybrid learning environment. Seeking for an active and meaningful learning, the work was based in both project-based and problem-based learning methodologies, and was performed in compliance with the Brazilian National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) and the priority themes established by the UNESCO’s Associated Schools Network. The project lasted four weeks and ended with a virtual Cultural Fair in which students and teachers presented the outcomes of the developed activities for the entire school community. The results highlight the importance of professional qualification, as well as of the democratization of technological teaching tools and internet access for all schools in the country.
