Abstract

BALLESTE, Samantha  and  CAPILHEIRA, Bianca Herreira. The formation of the architect and urbanist: evaluation of the curricular structure by students and recent graduates. Educ. Teoria Prática [online]. 2023, vol.33, n.66, e11.  Epub Dec 31, 2023. ISSN 1981-8106.  https://doi.org/10.18675/1981-8106.v33.n.66.s16095.

The literature states that all members of the school community, that is, managers, teachers and students, should organize the curriculum of all institutions collectively. However, the curriculum usually ends up being defined only by managers and teachers. Thus, this study seeks to characterize the perception of students in the final semesters of graduation and professionals recently graduated from an Architecture and Urbanism course, about the curricular structure of their course, identifying aspects that could be modified. The research, qualitative and quantitative type, is conducted from a case study, the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the UFPel, located in Pelotas - RS. As a result, the perceptions of students and recent graduates were revealed regarding the curricular conformation of the course, the adequacy of the curriculum composition, the total workload, the distribution of subjects and their workload in specific areas of knowledge in order to improve their professional training.
