VIEIRA, Naara da Silva Santos et al. Sociological portraits: literature review about the understanding of the personal and professional trajectory of Physical Education teachers. Educ. Teoria Prática [online]. 2023, vol.33, n.66, e30. ISSN 1981-8106. https://doi.org/10.18675/1981-8106.v33.n.66.s16828.
The present essay aimed to contextualize Bernard Lahire's Sociological Portraits method as it relates to the life trajectory and professional development of Physical Education teachers. Methodologically, it was presented as a narrative-type literature review research, which was structured from the reading of articles and books that addressed the theme choice and professional development. The search for these materials was carried out in the Google Scholar and Scielo databases, in which 33 articles were selected and analyzed. The results showed that choices and decision-making were based on different dimensions of socialization, the most influential of which were the Family and School. Professional development was mirrored in past experiences. Therefore, through the aforementioned method, it was possible to investigate the reason why a person decided for a particular profession and their career development, making the life trajectory influence the selection of the profession and the professional development of these professionals.
