OLIVEIRA, Lucia Maria Pereira de; TAVARES, Maria de Fátima Lobato y ROCHA, Rosa Maria da. Tuberculosis and prospects for health promotion in schools. Educ. Teoria Prática [online]. 2023, vol.33, n.66, e39. ISSN 1981-8106. https://doi.org/10.18675/1981-8106.v33.n.66.s17196.
This article aims to discover if the school is the locus of health promotion for coping with tuberculosis. This integrative review article conducted research on Google Scholar, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO) portals. Following a critical analysis, five articles were identified that met the object of the study and the locus researched. The sequential analysis revealed that only two of them used dynamic health education strategies based on active methodologies, involving students in a meaningful way and involved with the acquisition of knowledge about tuberculosis and quality of life improvements, taking into account health promotion. It is concluded that health education developed in the school environment gives little emphasis to health promotion. However, the school is an important health promotion setting that should be better explored in terms of actions involving tuberculosis, with the participation of students and the community.
