This research had the objective of analyzing the relationship between the level of religiosity and the level of performance of students at a federal university in Southern Brazil, during the first year of the pandemic. To achieve this objective, quantitative research was carried out, with a descriptive character regarding its objectives and, regarding its procedures, a survey. The sample consisted of 116 undergraduate students from a public university. Data were collected through an online questionnaire, consisting of a survey of the students’ sociodemographic profile, the Duke Religiosity Scale, and the Academic Performance Self-Assessment Scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, regression analysis and the tests One-Way Anova, T Test, Kruskall-Wallis, Levene and Shapiro-Wilk. The results of the study showed low correlation and almost zero relationship between the dimensions of religiosity and academic performance; on the other hand, there was a strong and positive influence of intrinsic religiosity on performance. In view of the results found, religiosity is an exciting topic for further studies, as this study establishes an initial dialogue on the subject during the first year of the pandemic.
