This paper aims to analyze the scientific productions on the continuing education of teachers and Area Coordinators (CA) of the Programa Institucional de Bolsa de Iniciação à Docência (PIBID) program available in the CAPES scientific journals database. The research is based on a qualitative approach, consisting of an exploratory bibliographic strategy structured through a state-of-the-art perspective (Morosini; Fernandes, 2014). The analyzed dataset consists of 11 papers published between 2014 and 2021, one doctoral thesis, and 10 scientific papers. A total of 69 CA from 31 centers participated in this research, with emphasis on the undergraduate courses of Pedagogy, Biology/Biological Sciences, Letters/Spanish/Portuguese, Mathematics, and Chemistry. Regarding the publications' goals, we identified several perspectives of contribution to the continuing education of the CA associated/related to the professional development and institutional innovation of undergraduate courses. The data reinforce the importance of the PIBID program as a potential space for the continuing education of the CA working in higher education.
