In contemporary times, we can see the resignification of meanings and socio-political uses attributed to cultural patrimonies often inscribed in ambivalence between dynamics of economic development and processes of identity affirmation. This diagnosis gives pertinence to question the relations between education and cultural patrimony, especially the correlations and similarity between policies of heritage education and identity narratives negotiated in local terms. In this sense, this paper aims to examine how the heritage education is today in two towns in Brazil undergoing the process of cultural patrimonialisation.
