Abstract

This paper reports an experience fulfilled with a group of third high school series from a public school at Sao Paulo, within the activities from the Scholarship Program of Introduction to Teaching (PIBID), provided by CAPES. It was aimed to render writing classes in Portuguese more attractive and effective, by using unpublished news written by the students and posted on Facebook, social network widely used by them, as an analysis corpus. This project gave voice to the students that were able to expose their researches and points of view about different themes they considered relevant. Facebook worked as a modern pedagogical tool, facilitator of the process, and as a teaching strategy that motivated the students.
