This paper presents some results of the survey that investigated children and the educational experiences of children who lived in the Educandário Eunice Weaver in Belém do Pará (1942-1980). The study aimed to clarify central childhood and educational experiences of children who have been away from the parents and the social get-together for the control and prevention of leprosy. The procedures adopted were the interview in hybrid and thematic oral history and documentary research. The survey results reveal a story of children who have been removed from the living with their families and the social conviviality, building a way to experience childhood based on isolation, in control of the children's bodies through the discipline and the physical and psychological violence.
