Abstract

The objective of the text is to fomente debates about events that are part the cultures and identities of the municipality of Rio Grande/ RS. Of the possible themes, the highlight of this writing is about the dances, observed during the religious event Iemanjá, held in this city. While methodological processes are: visits to religious centers of African matrix and holding a vigil during the Festival of Iemanjá of 2018, counting on the accomplishment of interviews with responsible for the terreiros and registries, in field diaries and the data were observed through a Cultural Analysis.
