Abstract

ARAUJO, Osmar Hélio Alves. WHICH EDUCATION IS NEEDED TO OVERCOME VIOLENCE AND INJUSTICE. Revista Teias [online]. 2018, vol.19, n.53, pp.288-298.  Epub Feb 19, 2020. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2018.32120.

This article questions which education is needed to overcome violence and injustice and seeks to assess whether overcoming violence requires specific education. It is necessary to reflect on to which extent education has played a role in the prevention/training, struggle and persistence for justice and social equality. The revision of an extensive literature allows for the perception of a scenario of violence and injustice generated, in most cases, by the capitalist system. Education for the exercise of citizenship, for human development and social transformation is one of the basic conditions for overcoming this scenario of violence and injustice in Brazilian daily social life.

Keywords : Education; Capitalism.Violence and injustice; Pedagogy.
