Abstract

GARCIA, Rosalba Maria Cardoso  and  MICHELS, Maria Helena. POLICY OF SPECIAL EDUCATION AND CURRICULUM: DISPUTES ABOUT NATURE, PERSPECTIVE AND FOCUS. Revista Teias [online]. 2018, vol.19, n.55, pp.54-70.  Epub Feb 17, 2020. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2018.37239.

The central objective of the article is to reflect on the disputes over the curriculum in the context of educational policies for Brazilian special education. We analyzed educational policy documents and academic production. We distinguish axes of analysis in the organization of special education in Brazil: the substitutive / non-substitutive nature, the segregated / integrated / inclusive perspective and care / clinical / educational approaches. With a temporal cut from the 1970s we grasp a shift from the "individualized curriculum" direction to the "individualization of the curriculum".
