Abstract

The study of hermeneutic and dialectical perspective addresses the power of persuasion of images and symbols in the production of social identity, based on the use of swastikas by Hitler's Nazi regime. Nazi propaganda symbolized in the distortions of the swastika and the power of conviction fulfills irrational functions of collective manipulation transposed by rationality. In the text, we present aspects of the historicity of the symbol as necessary to the understanding of being, culture and human interrelations in the world of life, to renew pedagogical, ontological and psychological dimensions. Finally, we problematize the ingenious power of persuasion of the mechanisms of contemporary culture capable of provoking astonishment and empathic emotions for the movement of social alienation and / or humanization.
