Abstract

CARVALHO, Felipe da Silva Ponte de  and  POCAHY, Fernando. #UERJRESISTE: the politicization of oneself through selfies. Revista Teias [online]. 2020, vol.21, n.60, pp.143-152.  Epub May 21, 2020. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2020.48630.

The Facebook social network has made it possible for users of your system to thematicize profile photos, their selfies. In this way, we promote new ways of practicing politics in our contemporary society marked by digital networking. Thus, the present research seeks to understand how the politicized mobilizations of selfies are inserted in the modes of political production, notably from new affirmations and (ethical) figurations. In order to follow the flows, ruptures and emergencies of everyday life online from the interlocutors of this research, facebook users, we have experimented with a genealogy of the modes of political production in the plots of cyberculture. In the following, we connect vestiges of educational networks where the interlocutors of research give us signs of a change in narcissistic and hedonistic meanings, politicizing their selfishness.

Keywords : cyberculture; subjectivation; politization of selfies; Facebook.
