Abstract

ROCHA, Damião; COELHO, Marcos Irondes  and  ARARIPE, Alexandre. EXPERIENCES OF / WITH AN INDIGENOUS “T PEOPLE” AMONG GENDERS OF / IN TOCANTINENSE EVERYDAY. Revista Teias [online]. 2020, vol.21, n.61, pp.117-127.  Epub June 08, 2020. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2020.49500.

Being announced as a transvestite in the context of everyday life is vigilance and punishment for any young person. In the case of a young indigenous woman between genders, the marks of prejudice intersected by ethnicity, gender, sexuality, transvestite, identity and culture act as the governmentality of her body and her being. Tensioning these concepts and (de)marking them in / with the narratives of the experience of "T people" is a challenge for these people, for the traditional indigenous community and for us in the research/researchers "involved" with / in education. The ongoing investigation at PPPGE / UFT addresses issues surrounding “homodesirable relationships” in Northern Brazil in action research and participant in a phenomenological approach. With Guacira Louro (2004), Berenice Bento (2008), Richard Miskolci (2016), Sandra Corazza (2001, 2002), we are involved in the experience / experience of / with an indigenous “person T” between genders, seeking to build theoretical contributions to decentralize cis-heteronormative practices in / from the eastern Amazon. We want to go beyond an imposing formation of models of how to be male or female, male and / or female, straight / homo / bi, for gender equality practices.

Keywords : indigenous transvestite; T people; curricular practices.
