This article presents analyzes on the theme of education of ethnic-racial relations in kindergarten. Thus, the objective was to understand the aspects that involve this theme in a class of four-year-old children in a Municipal Center for kindergarten that uses textbook and is located in the state of Paraná. For data collection, participant observation was carried out and, from different moments, field diaries, audio recording and photographic records were prepared. From the analysis we observed that hair can be pointed out as something relevant in the dialogues and joking among children, especially among girls. In addition, it is possible to affirm that there is not expressive presence of characters and contents in the textbook that contemplate the ethnic-racial diversity and this fact, linked to the need to comply with the units and contents of the textbook, contributed to the absence of intentional activities on the subject the theme.
