Abstract

SILVA, Daiane Lopes da  and  ARANTES, Adlene Silva. RURAL MARACATU IN THE CURRICULAR PEDAGOGICAL PROPOSAL OF CHILDHOOD EDUCATION IN NAZARÉ DA MATA-PE. Revista Teias [online]. 2020, vol.21, n.62, pp.157-172.  Epub Feb 09, 2022. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.%y.49661.

We investigated how the curricular policies of early childhood education in the municipality of Nazaré da Mata, Pernambuco meet the guidelines of the legislation in force in the scope of ethnic-racial relations. The qualitative study used the semi-structured interview, the documentary analysis and the reflective group. All ethical issues were answered. We realized that the theme of afro-brazilian and african history and culture is still worked in a timid manner as stated by the research participants, even though maracatu is present in the curriculum proposal for early childhood education in the municipality. Therefore, it is necessary to take actions aimed at the continuing education of teachers so that they can intensify practices that value AfroBrazilian culture in a municipality where maracatu is part of the life of many families and are not addressed as they should be. A culture so rich that it can contribute to the formation of subjects aware of their cultural, ethnic and racial identity.

Keywords : curriculum policies; ethnic-racial relations; child education; rural maracatu.
