Abstract

GOMES, Marco Antônio de Oliveira; ZANELATO, Ítalo Ariel  and  PITA, Crislaine Aparecida. STATE, CAPITAL AND EDUCATION REFORM: the law 5.692/71. Revista Teias [online]. 2021, vol.22, n.65, pp.382-395.  Epub Dec 26, 2019. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.%y.50181.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the association between State, capital and the educational reform promoted by Law No. 5.692/71 inaugurated by the military dictatorship (1964-1985). We take as a premise that the educational reforms implemented after the 1964 coup were conceived from the theory of human capital and served the interests of capital. State actions that aimed to modernize capitalist relations in Brazil were based on educational policy, such as the 1971 reform. Thus, the national education system that emerged with the military dictatorship was marked by the technocratic ideology, which advocated for a productivity pedagogical proposal and focused on meeting the demands of capital.

Keywords : education reform; law 5.692/7; civil-military dictatorship; education.
