This study intends to analyze the investigative tendencies in themes inherent to Human Rights Education (EDH) in research projects, in the Brazilian Northern Amazon-Amapá State. EDH is understood as the multidimensional process that seeks to the developing social and individual practices for the defense of human rights. In the context of higher education, EDH can occur, among other ways, through research, with the potential to guide public policies and enhance the recognition of socially vulnerable populations. The research is documentary, based on the research projects (2006 to 2018) of a federal public university. Through content analysis, two categories were examined: a) gender, women and LGBT + people; b) racial, ethnic and identity groups. The results revealed an expansion of research after 2013; greater interest from female teachers; and inclination towards the humanities area. The main trends in registration turned to the indigenous population. There was less choice of research focused on LGBT + people and the riverside population.
