Abstract

SANTOS, José Douglas Alves dos  and  MUALACA, Machaia M.. SCIENCE, EDUCATION AND SOCIETY: a reading about “the boy who harnessed the wind”. Revista Teias [online]. 2021, vol.22, n.65, pp.476-488.  Epub Dec 26, 2019. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.%y.51330.

In this paper we cover the film The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind (2019), from a reading based in cultural studies. The text is divided into four parts: in the first we provide a brief historical-cultural context; we reflect about cinema, otherness and formation, how films act in production of meanings, representations and identities; we approach cultural meet or not in face of generational clashes; and, concluding, we bring the considerations, resuming some of the discussions and highlighting the potential of the feature film in understanding that social context.

Keywords : the boy who harnessed the wind; science and society; education and society.
