Abstract

COIADO, Marina Ramos; REIS, Verônica Lima dos  and  CAPELLINI, Vera Lucia Messias Fialho. CITY’S MUNICIPAL PUBLIC SCHOOL VIEW OF DIVERSITY. Revista Teias [online]. 2021, vol.22, n.66, pp.325-337.  Epub Feb 06, 2023. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2021.52809.

Concepts such as tolerance, discrimination and identity were used for defining diversity, which underlies pillars for inclusion and coexistence among the different. Here, the goal is to verify the opinion of school subjects on inclusive cultures. The descriptive quantitative research used data about statements consistent with the definition of diversity. There were 12,338 questionnaires answered by: elementary school students early and late years, parents/guardians and school staff from 16 schools. The percentages of the closed responses to the statements were separated between the respondent segments for discussion about tolerance in the relationships. The results show that, even with positive responses about a diverse context, it is not possible to deduce the tolerance exercise in the everyday school life. The inconclusions of the results show the need to specify how such segments understand what they are saying in the daily life in which diversity is experienced.
