Abstract

This bibliographical article presents a reflection on the concept of Being more in Paulo Freire, highlighting the importance of the ideas of this educator, when thinking about an education aimed at raising awareness. Education can promote self-reflection on the limits of emancipation, thus, an instrument for strengthening resistance to society founded on relations of power and violence. Freire proposes an education that takes up the ontological sense of the human being, countering and resisting politicaleconomic domination, i.e., an education inspired by the hope of a future that is a permanent historical construction.
