Abstract

UCHOA, Márcia Maria Rodrigues; CHAVES, Carlos Alberto Paraguassú  and  PEREIRA, Carlos Eugênio. CURRICULUM AND CULTURES: Anti-Racist Education as a Human Right. Revista Teias [online]. 2021, vol.22, n.especial, pp.61-72.  Epub Feb 18, 2023. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2021.61610.

Our objective in this text is to present some considerations about the implementation of an Anti-Racist Education, understood as a human right, from a curriculum that recognizes and values the different cultures that permeate the school context and promotes an intercultural dialogue, giving voices above all to cultures of the black population, historically denied and marginalized by the colonization process. This is a bibliographic research, with theoretical support in Freire (1987), Cavalleiro (2001, 2005), Candau (2013, 2016), Almeida (2020), Gomes (2010, 2013), among others. Anti-racist Education mediated by a curriculum based on interculturality problematizes the causes of racism, seeks to overcome it through practices of dialogue and cultural exchange, aiming at promoting social equity, empowering the cultures of the black population and valuing human dignity.

Keywords : curriculum; interculturality; anti-racist education; differences.
