Abstract

LIMA, Letícia Dias de  and  SILVA, Fabiany de Cássia Tavares. CURRICULUM OF THE MUSIC COURSE AND THE FORMATION OF POPULAR MUSICIANS: state of knowledge. Revista Teias [online]. 2021, vol.22, n.especial, pp.341-358.  Epub Feb 18, 2023. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2021.53970.

This paper presents a "state of knowledge" exercise for PhD research in Education, which deals with the formation of the popular musician in dialogue with curricular issues of higher education of Music. Seen as a structuring element of the writing of a thesis, as it allows the appropriation of the current knowledge about the guiding issues of the research, this mapping serves a broader investigation process and is configured as a stage of analysis and discussion of the selected materials. The collection of thesis and dissertation texts was made after consulting the Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações (BDTD). We present the selected materials operating from two axes of analysis, namely, 1) music curriculum and 2) formation of the musician. Among other conclusions, the results demonstrate the scarcity of research on these subjects, as well as the strong conservatory tendencies that prevail in higher education of Music – both in its curricular structure and in pedagogical practices undertaken in universities.

Keywords : curriculum; formation of the musician; music course; popular music.
