Abstract

FREIRE, Thalyta. THE TIME OF CURATION: what matters is knowing what matters!. Revista Teias [online]. 2021, vol.22, n.especial, pp.427-430.  Epub Feb 18, 2023. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2021.53096.

The review is intended to show the book “The age of curation: what matters is knowing what matters!” published in 2015 by Editora Papirus 7 Mares, in which philosopher and educator Mario Sergio Cortella conducts a dynamic and meaningful conversation with journalist and website creator Gilberto Dimenstein, regarding the need to know how to select what matters, has relevance and credibility amidst the informational excess of the present time. The central point of the work is the curatorship of knowledge in filtering the essential and the curator's role as a disseminator in several areas. This is because the excess of information does not necessarily mean knowledge and the power of publication does not exactly generating evidence. Thus, mastering the ability to know how to select what matters is essential for the transformation of information in fast times.
