Resumen

SANTOS JUNIOR, José Édson dos  y  ARANTES, Adlene Silva. AFRICAN HERITAGES IN IPOJUCA/PE: from racial configurations to social challenges. Revista Teias [online]. 2022, vol.23, n.69, pp.324-340.  Epub 28-Feb-2023. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2022.61029.

The article is the result of research developed within the scope of the Graduate Program in Education at UPE. As a thematic focus, socio-historical aspects and idiosyncrasies were presented that show the relations of the city of Ipojuca, and the micro-regions of Suape and the South Coast of Pernambuco with African cultures, reflecting on ancestry and racial belonging from the local elements presented. The study reveals materiality for the development of pedagogical work with Law 10.639/03 according to the African heritage that the city has in different perspectives. As for the methodology, ethnographic research was used, seeking to make a historiographical analysis of the trajectory of the local black population that, as a practical result of the research, finds justifications for a public policy of a socio-racial nature.

Palabras clave : ethnic-racial relations; black identity; public policy..
