BARRIO, Ángel Baldomero Espina  y  OLIVEIRA, Marlene de. TRAJECTORY OF WOMEN UNIVERSITY MANAGERS IN IBEROAMERICA: an essay about Spain. Revista Teias [online]. 2022, vol.23, n.70, pp.129-138.  Epub 23-Feb-2023. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2022.67455.

This essay is part of the project of a doctoral thesis in History of Education and presents the results of the sandwich doctorate conducted at USAL - University of Salamanca, Spain (2021-2022). Interviews were carried out with female university professors, who occupy or have occupied management positions from 2010 to 2020 specifically. The object of study Women University Managers of Ibero-America intends to get to know the trajectory of women in five countries: Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Mexico, and Peru. For this essay, the framing was made from the study carried out during the sandwich doctorate in Salamanca, Spain, with the application of interviews with seven female university managers. The research problem intends to know: How has the trajectory of women university managers in Ibero-America of Spain, from 2010 to 2020, been? The theoretical conception is based on Bourdieu (1996), who defines the social trajectory as the movement within a field of possible, structurally defined. The methodological contribution is that of qualitative research with oral narrative, based on categories, according to Bardin (2016). The treatment of these data was performed through the TICs (Information and Communication Technology), with the use of IRAMUTEQ software. We observe that female university managers are highly qualified and that, although they are in a balanced number in relation to men, the top management positions are still occupied by men.

Palabras clave : trajectory; women; university management; Ibero-America; IRAMUTEQ.
