FIALHO, Lia Machado Fiuza; FREIRE, Vitória Chérida Costa e SOUSA, Francisca Genifer Andrade de. SOCIAL DISPLACEMENT THROUGH EDUCATION: tessituras of the poor and peripheral women (1970-1994). Revista Teias [online]. 2022, vol.23, n.70, pp.227-239. Epub 23-Fev-2023. ISSN 1982-0305. https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2022.66947.
undertaken by a poor and black girl, a resident of the outskirts of Fortaleza, to be able to enter schooling and continue in formal education, breaking the generational semi-literate characteristic of women from Ceará of her ethnicity, in the 1960s. The objective was to understand the mishaps and displacements experienced by Professor Zuleide Fernandes Queiroz in her school and university education that enabled her to resist the conservative discourse and the exclusions of educational institutions (1970–1994). Theoretically based on cultural history and methodologically on oral history, biographical research developed, which considered as an object of study the narratives of the biographer, collected through free interviews. The results show that, contrary to the path of other poor, black and peripheral girls of her time, doomed to illiteracy and underemployment, Zuleide Fernandes Queiroz managed, with great difficulty, not only to complete basic education, but to become an effective teacher from the Universidade Regional do Cariri. Her educational trajectory, marked by a lack of financial resources, was re-signified with her active participation in student movements, leading the fight for civil and citizenship rights taken away from poor women, especially black women.
