The article analyzes the perception of public school teachers in Mossoró/RN about the re-education of ethnic-racial relations in the post-law period 10.639/2003. It is mainly based on the Curricular Guidelines National Curriculum Guidelines for the Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations and for the Teaching of Afro-Brazilian and African History and Culture and on authors such as Madeira (2020), Munanga (2005), Gomes (2001) and Gomes (2008). The analysis corpus consists of fragments extracted from semi-structured interviews with nine teachers from the state network of the city of Mossoró / RN. The analyzes point out that the teachers conceive the importance of making positive ethnic-racial relations at school, but they list some obstacles, such as the lack of adequate training and the impacts of a curriculum still nuanced by a homogenizing racial bias.
