PETERS, Maria José Ambrósio dos Reis  e  LIMA, Marcia Machado de. INTERCULTURAL CALENDAR: result of action research with teachers. Revista Teias [online]. 2022, vol.23, n.70, pp.353-366.  Epub 23-Fev-2023. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2022.64937.

This study discuss the results of an action research from 2019 to 2021, with elementary teachers from EMEF Prof. Herbert de Alencar in the city of Porto Velho, our objective aimed to investigate and understand the participants’ points of view about the variables present in socialization and learning of immigrant students, in the context of the school-camp. With an emphasis on intercultural and ethnic-racial processes, we discussed aspects of school education in the Amazonian context and built didactic materials to visualize, validate, valorize and circulate the knowledge of Bolivian, Haitian and Venezuelan students. The conversation circles enabled the construction as the data collection process, gathering information and contents to be added, like learning skills, to the school-camp curriculum and helped them collectively build an educational product entitled Intercultural Calendar. The estrangement resulting from the intercultural process and the emphasis on ethnic-racial integration brought to the group of participating teachers’ confrontations regarding the invisibility and exclusion of foreign students. The action-research, from the interculturality perspective and ethnic-racial relations allowed us to understand that small cracks in the curriculum can undermine the colonizing mentality persistence in the school space and propose a different learning.
