The review describes the book Educação e Formação de Jovens e Adultos. (Re)pensando o trabalho e os contextos profissionais, organized by Luís Alcoforado, Elenita Eliete de Lima Ramos and Nivia Maria Vieira Costa. The work consists of a collection of 28 articles that discuss educational policies in the field of professional education and youth and adult education, addressing issues such as teacher training, subjects with interrupted paths and the actions of international agencies in education. The works had as research field schools from Brazil and Portugal. Due to the significant number of articles, we opted for a methodology that carried out a dialogue between the texts by thematic axes, deepening only some subjects in a more specific way. The reading provokes reflections on the results and effects that neoliberal-oriented policies throw on the conjunctures of these nations from the interests of multilateral organizations.
