Abstract

MAZZEI, Victor Reis  and  MELLO, André da Silva. PROJECT IMAGES THAT I AM ENCHANTED BY: authorship and protagonism of children undergoing cancer treatment. Revista Teias [online]. 2023, vol.24, n.72, pp.3-19.  Epub Aug 03, 2023. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2023.67146.

The study analyzes the process of photo and video production carried out by children undergoing oncologic care admitted at an institution in Vitória/Espírito Santo (ES). As investigative method, it uses the existential research-action, by demanding from the researchers, their performance with sensitive listening and the fact that the project deals with changing the reality of the ones involved. The initiative involved 60 people, between children, family members, team members and the institution employees. Apart from the perspective to participate in the cancer treatment, the possibility of taking pictures and footages valued creativity and the children’s agencies restored part of the authorship of those who were undergoing oncologic treatment, as well as provided moments of affection among the families.

Keywords : children; media-education; cancer treatment.
